It's been a busy past couple of days around our house. My sister and family came down for a visit and well, we never sit still with three kids running around. We went to Legoland and Disneyland back to back days. I've had my exersice for the year. :)
In the mist of all of this fun fun fun I have been playing with Photo Shop Elements (PSE). I finally got Photoshop and am still learning all of the tricks.
I added some rounded corners to this photo. You can find the tutorial I used here.
I think it's going to take me a long time to learn PSE, but it will be a fun process. If you have any favorite tutorials or Photoshop functions please let me know. :)
The weather has finally caught up to us. It rained today. Not a heavy rain, just a nice drizzle that turned to actual rain and then turned back to a drizzle again. It was the perfect day to introduce "rain" to Little Pea.
Of course she saw rain last winter, but everything is so new to her this year. (Another year older really makes a difference.) It's like seeing things for the first time. I love her excitement. She was over joyed to put on her rain coat and prance around with her umbrella.
I'm thinking she needs rain boots next.
I have a lot of random thoughts floating around in my head today...
I went up to my scrapbook room an few hours ago (after putting the baby to sleep) and it sucked me in! I had intentions of cleaning up for a few minutes and the next thing I knew I am scrapping away. The next thing I knew it was 10:30pm! Does that ever happen to you?
It was a nice feeling to get a page done. I've been working on my book from the Art Class I took and even trying to finish my Week in A Life Album! I will get that done if it's the last thing I do!
Good news...I got some new Happy Tape for my b-day! Thank you Sis!
For anyone interested the birthday details, my day was FABulous! I woke up at 6:15am in a panic because my Dear Hubby was still in bed. He usually leaves for work at 5:00am. I sat up, looked at his clock and whacked him in the arm. He's never late and usually panics if he over sleeps even 5 mins. But when I woke him, he didn't panic. He turned to me and said, "Happy Birthday. I took the day off. I'll be making you chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and I'll be watching the baby while you go to the spa with your best friend. I booked you spa treatments at 1pm."
He WHAT!?!?! I must still be dreaming. I pinched myself on the arm paused and then said, "Really????" He kissed me and we went back to sleep until the baby woke us up.
He's such an awesome Hubby. He knows I don't like to be away from the baby, so he booked my spa time during her nap time. What a smartie!
After my spa time my parents came over and brought a crazy incredible dinner with them. We had all sorts appetizers, tons seafood, garlic bread... it went on and on. I will be eating leftovers for days!
I couldn't have asked for a better birthday. I guess getting older isn't too bad...
This is a picture of me from the day before Little Pea was born. (Man, was I big. And I really miss my hair being all one length.)
I remember about a week before this photo was taken I was waiting in a line to order lunch when the man in front of me, looked over, dropped his jaw and staring at my stomach said, "Whoa! You ready to go!" All I could do was laugh and thankfully my husband and I have had many laughs at this completely insensitive comment since it was said. We now say it after we've eaten too much at dinner or just when we reminisce about my pregers belly. Looking at this picture now... well, that guys really was right.
But now I'm just in denial... I just sent out invites to her 2nd birthday party and it all feels a little surreal. Will I always feel this way? Will life continue speeding past me? If you have any tips on how to slow things down, please do share!
On a scrappy note, I had tons of time to play with paper this weekend. The hubs was off on a bachelor party, so my nights were all mine. I completed this page for my art class.
I love all the little details Debee included in her teaching and her kit. I'm so glad I took the class.
Happy Scrappin and thanks for listening to my rambleing on my still 1 year old!
This is our local water park.
Do you see that big red bucket on the top? This is what is does.
About every 5 minutes the kids get a good splash. They love it, although, our little one is just a little, too little to really enjoy it. She does love the rest of the water park though.
We spent most of the weekend here enjoying the sun and just having some good old fashion family time.
When it got cool in the evening Little Pea put on her jacket and sat down to watch the other kids play.
Oh, and these little beach shoes we got the baby are going to be great this summer.
In between all of this water play we managed to make it to a good friend's house warming party. I couldn't show up empty handed so I whipped up a mini album for her. Here's a peek at the cover. I'll be back to show you the rest later this week.
